On February 22, 2022, the world-renowned law journal China Business Law Journal published the list of Deals of the Year of 2021, which includes DeHeng’s many deals by virtue of their significance, complexity and innovation.
Reorganization of HNA Group

Case summary: HNA is the first domestic airline and also the world’s largest large-scale public transport airline to be reorganized in bankruptcy. The industrial group Fangda was selected as a strategic investor in HNA’s high-profile reorganization, with a total investment of RMB 41 billion, making it the largest ever M&A case in China’s aviation industry. After the reorganization, the HNA Group will have 16 passenger airlines, four cargo airlines and four general airlines, including Hainan Airlines, the fourth largest airline in China. The fleet will exceed 800 aircraft, including 672 commercial and 134 general-purpose aircraft, with more than 60,000 employees.
Republic of Korea Withdraw the Anti-dumping Investigation under a large domestic aluminum industry’s Defense

Case summary: DeHeng was hired by a large home aluminum industry to respond to an anti-dumping investigation initiated by the Korea Trade Commission against aluminum hydroxide imported from China and Australia. DeHeng made a definite defense against the applicant’s inaccurate definition of the scope of the subject merchandise, and submitted complete responses to the exporter’s questionnaires in accordance with the proceeding rules of the investigating authority. Having realized DeHeng’s defense was irrefutable, the Korean applicant applied to the investigating authority to withdraw the petition, upon which the Korea Trade Commission announced the decision to terminate the anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of aluminum hydroxide from China and Australia. This is quite rare in the practices of anti-dumping investigations in Republic of Korea and sets an effective precedent that can be cited in future response to the anti-dumping investigations conducted by Republic of Korea against China.
