China Biographical Literature Society and DeHeng Law Offices
Work Together to Protect Writers' Rights

On Nov. 27, 2009, the First Symposium on the Creation and the Legal Rights Protection of Biographical Literature and the Establishment Conference of the Legal Rights Protection Committee of China Biographical Literature Society, co-hosted by China Biographical Literature Society and DeHeng Law Offices, was Held in Beijing Jingdong Hotel. Authorities from the Press and Publication Administration and the Procuratorate and more than 60 domestic biography writers, legal experts, academics and some members in Beijing of the Society attended the symposium. People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, Literary Newspaper, Sina.com, Beijing Evening News, the Chinese Press and Publishing Journal, Legal Daily, People's Court News, China Youth Daily and other media also attended the symposium.


In recent years, legal suits related to biographical literature have been increasing year by year. In order to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of biographical writers in literary creation, the China Biographical Literature Society decided to establish the Legal Rights Protection Committee President of China Biographical Literature Society Wan Boao announced at the meeting the establishment of the Legal Rights Protection Committee of China Biographical Literature Society, in which Wang Li acts as director, Jia Yinghua, Li Guifang, Kong Dongmei as deputy director, Zheng Jun as secretary-general, Chen Changbin and Zhang Liping as deputy Secretary-General.


Vice President of China Biographical Literature Society, director of DeHeng Law Office, director of the Legal Rights Protection Committee Wang Li announced at the meeting that DeHeng Law Offices donates 100,000 RMB to the Legal Rights Protection Committee as the start-up capital for the work of safeguarding writers' rights.
